Flying

From the U.S. you’ll arrive at FIUMICINO AIRPORT (which has been awarded the best airport in Europe every year since 2017!) To reach Central Rome, you can easily take the Leonardo da Vinci express train to Termini Station. (If you’re staying in Garbatella, Trastevere or Testaccio - ask us and we’ll give you more specific directions.) A taxi from the airport to Central Rome cost 50 euros flat fare. A taxi from the airport directly to Casale del Gallo will take about 30 minutes and should cost about 50 euros on the meter.

If you’re coming from Europe, consider flying into Ciampino Airport. It’s about a 5 minute drive from the airport to the wedding venue!

Getting around

Central Rome itself is easy to get around as a tourist. Most sites within the center of the city are reachable by foot. Otherwise there’s the metro, which is small but efficient, and a vast but byzantine system of buses (Maddie is an expert and can guide you if you choose to avail yourself of this network.)

If you’re touring Rome before or after the wedding, and want to stay close to the historical center but not quite in it, we recommend Monti, Esquilino or Testaccio. The very bottom of Trastevere, near Piazza San Cosimato, is also nice and tranquil.

For the weekend of the wedding, we highly recommend you rent a car. There will be ample parking at the venue and the nearby hotels. Parking in Central Rome is hard but doable. This way, you’ll be able to explore the city, the nearby countryside, and come and go from the wedding venue with no headaches. If you can’t drive or don’t want to, let us know and we can organize a car pool for you.
